One Hundred Thousand Jobs in Qatar

A diplomatic source mentioned that the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, discussed with the caretaker Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, on the sidelines of the Arab summit in Algeria earlier this month the matter of Qatar welcoming a large number of Lebanese for various jobs starting from the beginning of next year. The Emir of Qatar informed Mikati that his country is preparing to open new labor markets after the World Cup, and that the massive infrastructure built to host the FIFA World Cup will be followed by an investment program that requires a huge number of employees. Qatar is ready to welcome 100,000 Lebanese to work in various specialties. The source emphasized that Al Thani was keen to point out that his country wants these workers to be from all regions and different sects.
