Algerian Policeman Kills 4 Colleagues Intentionally

An Algerian policeman shot and killed four of his colleagues at a security facility in the Am al-Azaim area of Souk Ahras, near the Tunisian border, on Sunday morning. Local sources reported that the perpetrator later shot himself. The Algerian police issued a statement expressing their "deep regret over the fatal incident that claimed the lives of four of its employees." They noted that an investigation has been initiated to uncover the circumstances of the incident, under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor. In a subsequent statement, the police added that initial investigations indicated "material evidence suggesting that this was a case of intentional murder."
