Lebanon's Minister of Displaced Persons, Issam Sharafeddine, announced after his meeting with Prime Minister Najib Mikati that "the agenda for the cabinet session scheduled on May 22 includes a topic related to the displaced and their return as a key item." He expressed the hope that "there would be attendance from all parties, as it is a sensitive and vital issue, with Mikati showing full responsiveness." Sharafeddine added, "During the consultative meeting last Monday, Mikati was enthusiastic about this topic and expressed his willingness to go to Syria, which is a very positive sign indicating seriousness in dealing with this matter." He confirmed that he would be present at the upcoming cabinet session.
