Syrian President Bashar Assad confirmed today, during his meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Special Affairs Ali Asghar Khaji and the accompanying delegation, the importance of coordination in the upcoming stage, particularly regarding the "quadrilateral" meetings and the Astana process. He stated, "We need to establish a joint strategy that outlines the foundations and clearly defines the titles and objectives that future negotiations will be based on, whether regarding the Turkish withdrawal from Syrian territory, combating terrorism, or other issues." He emphasized the necessity of "setting a timeline and implementation mechanisms for these topics, in cooperation with the Russian and Iranian sides." For his part, Khaji expressed his country’s satisfaction with the developments taking place in Syrian foreign relations at the Arab level, considering that this new phase would not have occurred without Syria's steadfastness and the sacrifices of its people in the face of terrorism.
