Assault and Insult: What Happened in Jezzine?

Some members of the Jezzine – Ain Majdeline municipality were subjected to assaults and insults by protesters regarding the establishment of an organic waste treatment station funded by USAID, which adheres to environmental and health regulations and aims to convert organic waste into compost. The Jezzine – Ain Majdeline municipality issued a statement condemning this act, calling on the town's residents to peacefully convene for dialogue to understand the matter scientifically and environmentally. They affirmed that they had reported anyone who assaulted members and police of the municipality to the relevant authorities.
