China Calls on the European Union to Lift Export Restrictions

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated today, Tuesday, that the European Union should lift export restrictions if it wants to address the trade imbalance instead of blaming Beijing. In response to the EU Trade Commissioner, Valdis Dombrovskis, who described the deficit as "stark" in an interview with the Financial Times, the Ministry said: "China has never sought to achieve a trade surplus deliberately."
