Title: Bou Saab: Berri Sticks to His Position and the First Phase of My Initiative Ends Today

Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Elias Bou Saab confirmed, after his meeting with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain al-Tineh, that "his initiative is in several phases," explaining that "the first phase ends today, and an evaluation will take place afterward. The goal is to shake off the stagnation in the presidential election in light of regional stability, which may lead to a resolution." He noted that he "sensed Berri's steadfastness to his position. After refusing dialogue, we are trying to find a way to move towards a new direction to bring the parties together." Bou Saab reiterated that "the region and the entire area are changing, stability is on the way, and we as Lebanese must communicate with each other and seize opportunities, as this is the only thing that can rescue us from the deadly vacuum we are experiencing in Lebanon."

Afterward, Bou Saab emphasized, following his meeting with MP Taymour Jumblatt in Clemenceau, the necessity of "reaching an agreement to organize the upcoming phase and work on finding common grounds and building bridges," stating, "I requested their cooperation on this matter." For his part, member of the "Democratic Gathering" MP Hadi Abu al-Hassan supported "any step that contributes to breaking the presidential stalemate," confirming that they are open to any proposal and that it is essential to define the framework, content, and timeframe of the dialogue with all partners in the nation.
