The government of the Canary Islands announced today, Friday, that wildfires continue on the tourist island of Tenerife, covering an area of 3.2 square kilometers, and that it is impossible to control them due to the terrain and smoke density. The President of the Canary Islands government, Fernando Clavijo, stated that "the flames continue to spread and cannot be controlled due to the terrain, weather, and smoke." Local authorities reported the involvement of 17 planes and helicopters in extinguishing the fire, which is considered one of the most dangerous fires in 40 years, with over 7,600 people evacuated from the island of Tenerife due to the fire.
