Canadian businessman Elon Musk indicated that "X, the social media platform, will eliminate the blocking feature that allows users to block other accounts, in another controversial move for the company he purchased last year." Musk stated in a post on the platform: "Blocking will be removed as a 'feature,' except for direct messages." He added: "X will keep the mute feature, which removes tweets from certain accounts, but unlike blocking, it does not notify those accounts of this action." The blocking feature on the "X" platform allows any user to prevent specific accounts from interacting with them, seeing their posts, or following them.
