Third Qatari Bid for Manchester United

Third Qatari Bid for Manchester United

The Guardian reported that Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the son of a former Prime Minister of Qatar, is preparing to submit a third enhanced bid for the acquisition of Manchester United, a competitor in the English Premier League, for less than five billion pounds. The British newspaper noted that Sheikh Jassim aims to purchase 100% of the club's shares, but his offer is below the six billion pounds demanded by the current owners, the Glazer family. The club declined Reuters' request for comment on the report. According to sources familiar with the matter, this offer is said to also include a financing plan with additional capital and investment in infrastructure, covering 100% of the club and eliminating all debts. In March, Reuters reported that Sheikh Jassim made a second offer for the club.
