Center: Tropical Storm Forms in the Central Atlantic

The U.S. National Hurricane Center indicated on Saturday that “a tropical depression in the central Atlantic has intensified and turned into a storm.” The center stated: “The storm is located about 935 kilometers northwest of the Cape Verde Islands, with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour.” It added: “A weakening of the storm is expected to begin early tomorrow, Sunday.”
