Abdollahian: It is a Mistake to Provide Weapons to Kyiv or Moscow

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stated that Tehran does not support either side in the conflict in Ukraine and believes it is a mistake to send weapons to Kyiv or Moscow. This statement came in response to a question from Al-Monitor regarding allegations of Iran supplying drones to Russia. The Iranian minister said, "We have a defense cooperation agreement with Russia, but we do not support either side in the Ukrainian war, in order to avoid prolonging it. We strongly oppose any war, whether in Ukraine, Yemen, or Palestine." He added, "We participated in efforts to achieve peace and a ceasefire in Ukraine. We believe it is a mistake for any party to send weapons to Ukraine and Russia. We will continue to enhance political dialogue to resolve this crisis through political negotiations."
