Islamic Cooperation Calls for Collective Measures Against Repeated Desecration of the Quran

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which consists of 57 member states, called today, Sunday, for "collective measures to prevent the recurrence of incidents of Quran desecration," adding that "international law, which clearly prohibits any call to religious hatred, must be applied." The organization's Secretary-General, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, emphasized the "necessity of sending a continuous reminder to the international community regarding the urgent application of international law, which clearly prohibits any call to religious hatred." This statement came during an emergency meeting of the organization's secretariat following the incident of Quran burning in Sweden last week.
