Lebanese Town of Douma Wins Best Tourist Village in the World Award

The Mayor of Douma, Assad Issa, announced that the town has won the Best Tourist Village in the World award in the annual competition organized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The official announcement was made today in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The acting director general of the Ministry of Tourism, Jumana Kabreet, received the award on behalf of Douma due to the mayor's inability to travel for security reasons related to the current situation in the country. Douma won this award among 260 villages from 60 countries.
