NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg predicted on Wednesday that Israel's response to Hamas's attack at the beginning of the week would be proportional. Stoltenberg added to journalists, "I expect, of course, that when we see Israeli responses, they will be proportional, and as this conflict continues, it is important to do everything possible to prevent the loss of innocent civilian lives."
