Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Wassim Mansouri, mentioned today, Monday, that "the central bank intends to provide a new trading platform through Bloomberg." In an interview with "Al Arabiya TV," Mansouri pointed out that "our decision is final not to finance the state either in Lebanese pounds or in dollars. The state must find ways to finance its budget deficit." The Sayrafa platform was established in May 2021, following 18 months of economic collapse in Lebanon. It has been widely seen as a tool to maintain the stability of the Lebanese pound, which has continued to decline despite this.
