The spokesperson for the Iranian judiciary, Masoud Staeishi, revealed today, Wednesday, that "an Iranian diplomat sentenced to 20 years in prison in Belgium will be released soon in a prisoner exchange deal." The diplomat, Assadollah Assadi, was sentenced in 2021 related to a foiled bombing plan in 2018 that targeted an Iranian opposition group in Paris.
