A source from the German Foreign Office indicated today, Saturday, that Germany will withdraw more than 100 employees working in its missions in Russia, following Moscow's restrictions on the number of personnel allowed to work in the country. The source stated, "This cap, which Russia set starting June 1, requires a significant reduction (in the number of staff) across all sectors in Russia." It was added that among those affected are teachers and other staff from schools and the Goethe Institute, describing the move as necessary to maintain the correct balance of the German diplomatic presence. The source described the cap, which was announced in April, as "unilateral, unjustified, and incomprehensible," refusing to disclose the maximum number imposed by Moscow.
