Response to Adwan's Aggression: Statement from the Minister of Justice

In response to the statements made during the conference held by Deputy George Adwan, Minister of Justice in the caretaker government, Henry Khoury, emphasizes that he has been closely following the investigations concerning the case of the Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh. In light of recent developments, he met separately with judges Hélène Iskander and Maher Chaïtou on Friday and Monday, September 1 and 4, 2023, away from the media. Subsequently, in agreement with the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Minister Khoury decided to request the judicial inspection to review the proceedings of the session and how it was conducted, leading to the council's decision to withdraw from the case and subsequently recuse itself from it.
