The U.S. Census Bureau announced today, Tuesday, that the official poverty rate in the United States was 11.5 percent in 2022, while the supplemental poverty rate, which takes into account government support such as stimulus checks, was 12.4 percent. In a phone call with reporters, the Census Bureau stated that approximately 92.1 percent of Americans had health insurance for all or part of 2022.
