Malaysia Evacuates Families of Its Embassy Staff in Lebanon

The Malaysian government has decided to evacuate the families of its embassy staff in Beirut amid the recent escalation in southern Lebanon, "until the threat to their safety is eliminated." The Malaysian Foreign Ministry indicated that "the decision was a proactive step by the government to ensure the safety of its citizens." The ministry clarified in a statement that its embassy "will continue to operate as usual," while advising Malaysian citizens to postpone any non-essential travel to Lebanon.
