Arrest of Former Tunisian Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali

Tunisian authorities arrested former Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali today, Tuesday, and referred him to investigative bodies. Jebali's lawyer stated, "Security forces raided Jebali's home and arrested him, then referred him to the investigation unit in Al-Aouina," without providing further details. Hamadi Jebali is affiliated with the "Ennahda" movement, although he has resigned from it, and he served as Prime Minister from December 2011 to February 2013. He ran for the presidential election in 2019, which was won by the current President Kais Saied for a five-year term.
