Britain announced today, Tuesday, that it is targeting individuals and companies in Iran, Turkey, Dubai, Slovakia, and Switzerland in its latest round of sanctions aimed at undermining the Russian defense system by preventing it from acquiring military equipment from abroad. British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly stated in a statement: "Today's historic sanctions will lead to further depletion of Russia's arsenal and tighten the chokehold on the supply chains that support Putin's defense industry, which is currently struggling." The government announced 22 new sanctions against individuals and companies outside Russia that it claims support Moscow in the Ukrainian conflict, in addition to three Russian companies that import vital electronics for the Russian military equipment used in battlefields.
