The newspaper "Kommersant" has revealed the expected price of the new Russian MC-21 aircraft, which is planned to compete with Boeing and Airbus airplanes in the market. According to the Russian newspaper, citing sources, the price of the new Russian aircraft for delivery in 2028-2030 will range between 4.3 - 4.6 billion rubles (approximately 54 million dollars).
According to the report, the national Russian carrier "Aeroflot" will acquire these aircraft at a lower price, as the leasing company under "Rostec" will purchase the aircraft for "Aeroflot" at the price of 3.2 billion rubles, with deliveries set for 2023-2026.
It is worth noting that the MC-21 is a medium-range aircraft designed to compete with the Boeing 737 and the Airbus A320 in the global aircraft market, as its specifications exceed those of these two models in terms of fuel consumption and other features. The Russian aircraft can accommodate between 150 and 211 passengers depending on the buyer's request and is designed using the latest aerospace engineering technologies, equipped with the latest engines and navigation systems.
