The Doha Theater Festival kicked off its thirty-fifth edition yesterday, Tuesday, at the Drama Theater in the Qatar Cultural Village (Katara) with the performance "The Incident and the Existing" by the Talents Theater. The festival, which runs until May 29 under the slogan "Fifty Years... and More," features 13 performances presented by local theater groups, private institutions, amateurs, universities, and Arab communities residing in Qatar.
The festival, organized by the Theater Affairs Center under the Ministry of Culture, will host a practical seminar after each performance to analyze and discuss its dimensions in the presence of the director and the author.
On May 21, the festival will celebrate the history of Qatari theater from its establishment to the present with a performance titled "Fifty Years of Theater," composed by Talal Al-Sudaiqi and directed by Nasser Abdul-Ridha.
