MP Ibrahim Kan'an pointed out that "the void is deadly, and everyone needs to realize that the current phase requires solutions and reforms more than searching for positions." During his visit to Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi on Tuesday morning, Kan'an noted that "there can be no delay in carrying out this essential task, and while hope exists, it is necessary to move away from power struggles and head towards a reconciliation and reforms rather than authority." He added that this was a visit to greet His Eminence the Patriarch after his return from Washington and the Patriarch's return from Cyprus, keeping him informed about his visit to the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the U.S. administration. He emphasized that if the Lebanese, especially the Christians, do not exert effort outside the framework of power struggles to build a state and a significant presence, the situation is worrisome.
