Croydon Athletic, competing in the ninth tier of English football, announced today that British rap star Stormzy is collaborating with Crystal Palace striker Wilfried Zaha to purchase the club. Zaha was born in Ivory Coast but grew up in Croydon since he was four years old, while Stormzy also hails from the area. The duo is working with former Palace executive Danny Yang to buy Croydon. Croydon stated in a statement, "This alliance will own, operate, and develop the club in its hometown." A number of celebrities have recently invested in football clubs.
