The president of French club Lille, Olivier Létang, announced on Thursday that his team has reached an agreement with Algerian international midfielder Nabil Bentaleb to join their ranks. Létang stated at a press conference: "We have an agreement with the player and his club, we are waiting for the results of the medical examinations to finalize the contract with Nabil." Bentaleb, 28, who is contracted to Angers until 2025, is preparing to leave the club following its relegation to the French second division. Bentaleb, who was born in Lille and has previously played for Tottenham and Newcastle in England as well as Schalke in Germany, knows the French team well as he spent a significant part of his football development with them (2004-2009).
