The semi-official Iranian Student News Agency reported today, Sunday, that a technical delegation from Iran will visit Saudi Arabia this week to prepare for the reopening of the Iranian embassy in Riyadh. This follows a meeting between the Saudi and Iranian foreign ministers in Beijing on Thursday, marking the first official meeting of its kind in over seven years.
The Iranian agency stated, "The Iranian technical delegation will visit the Iranian embassy in Riyadh to arrange for the reopening of the Iranian embassy in Saudi Arabia." The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioned on Saturday that officials visited Iran to discuss procedures for reopening the Kingdom's diplomatic missions in the Islamic Republic.
