# Real Madrid Announces the Signing of Chelsea's Goalkeeper

Real Madrid announced today, Monday, the official signing of Chelsea's goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan. Real Madrid stated in a press release on its official website, "The club has reached an agreement with Chelsea for the loan of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who will join the team for this season until June 30, 2024."

It added, "Kepa has spent 5 seasons with Chelsea, winning the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, and the UEFA Europa League, and this year he received the award for Best Save in the Premier League for the 2022-2023 season."

The club noted that "Kepa is an international goalkeeper with the Spanish national team, which won the UEFA Nations League 2023, and he also won the Under-19 European Championship in 2012."

It concluded, "Kepa will be presented as a new player for Real Madrid tomorrow, Tuesday, at the club's sports city, after which he will appear at a press conference." The Belgian Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid's goalkeeper, suffered a complete ACL tear and will undergo surgery in the coming days, with expectations that he will be out of action for a long time, potentially up to 8 months.
