The Russian emergency minister announced today that 41 people have died and 121 have been hospitalized due to the collapse of the Kakhovka Dam earlier this month in a part of Ukraine controlled by Russia. Alexander Kurenkov stated that "more than eight thousand have been evacuated from the flood area" during a government meeting broadcast on television, chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
