The Minister of Agriculture in the caretaker government, Abbas Al-Hajj Hassan, reached out to both the General Directorate of Customs and the General Directorate of State Security to assist in controlling agricultural products entering Lebanon through illegal smuggling, particularly in the markets as local production begins, especially for the citrus season. This situation poses risks to the agricultural sector and threatens the livelihood of Lebanese farmers as they struggle to cope with the severe economic crisis. He also urged the associations managing wholesale markets in various Lebanese regions to "cooperate and assist in monitoring smuggled products and inform the relevant authorities about their locations."
