The Finance and Budget Committee, chaired by MP Ibrahim Kanaan, has completed the first chapter of the 2024 budget project, encompassing its 14 articles. It suspended Article 5 regarding borrowing permission, Article 7 related to the mechanism for accepting grants and loans, and Article 8 concerning the transfer of appropriations. It also canceled Article 10 related to subsidized loans from the Central Bank of Lebanon. The committee will continue discussing the provisions of the second and third chapters on Wednesday and Thursday.
