The Italian Serie B club Como announced on Monday that former Spanish midfielder Cesc Fàbregas will take over as interim coach following the departure of coach Moreno Longo. This will be Fàbregas's first major coaching role after his retirement in July, having previously played for Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea. Last season, Fàbregas played 17 matches in Serie B with Como before retiring and taking charge of the club's youth team.
