Chief of Israel's General Staff, Eyal Zamir, has declared that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are fully prepared and alert on all fronts. He announced that the army would continue to operate aggressively and systematically to prevent Israel's adversaries, particularly in Gaza and Lebanon, from rebuilding their capabilities.
During a field tour in Gaza on Tuesday, Zamir proclaimed, "We will not allow our enemies on the borders, especially in Gaza and Lebanon, to rebuild their strength. Our efforts will focus on continuing to weaken them methodically and with aggression."
Zamir emphasized the importance of preventing armed infrastructure from taking root, stating, "We will seize every opportunity to eliminate threats as they emerge. We have learned from past lessons and changed our strategy. The IDF will not return to its previous state as of October 6."
He stressed that tracking down militants involved in the October 7 attack is ongoing, asserting that everyone involved remains a target until neutralized. This mission, he assured, holds high priority and is a commitment upheld by the leadership and the entire Israeli military.
Accompanying Zamir were the Southern Command Commander, Major General Yaniv Assur, and Gaza Division Commander, Brigadier General Liron Batito. Throughout the tour, Zamir met with brigade and battalion leaders in Gaza, who briefed him on the operational status and activities in the area, where he expressed appreciation for the soldiers and leaders defending Israel's residents.
"As we approach the third anniversary of October 7 in about a month and a half, the IDF has been engaged in a multi-front, complex, and ongoing conflict in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and other fronts," Zamir noted.
He described this encounter as a significant challenge for the IDF, claiming that his forces had achieved "exceptional accomplishments" in all areas, winning every battle and significantly weakening Israel's adversaries, damaging their capabilities and infrastructure.
"Continuous readiness and alertness are maintained across all fronts because we understand that the conflict is not over," Zamir stated.
Specifically regarding Gaza, Zamir affirmed that the IDF would not abandon its goal of disarmament in the region and disbanding Hamas "using every required means."
The army, he said, continues to systematically inflict sustained damage on Hamas and its leaders everywhere, including conducting an ongoing campaign to prevent their resurgence.
Zamir reinforced his commitment to pursuing those involved in the October 7 attack until they are neutralized, describing the mission as long-term, with full commitment from Israel's leadership and the IDF.
"Our message is clear: we've conducted investigations and drawn lessons. The IDF will not revert to the strategy we witnessed on October 6. There will be no tolerance for threats," he added.
"We will not allow the enemy to rebuild their strength, nor will we permit armed infrastructures to establish roots. We will act at every opportunity to eliminate threats as they emerge," Zamir reiterated.
He assured that the military listens to the residents' concerns and understands their fears, pledging to confront any threat against them.
The Israeli forces remain poised on the frontline opposite towns, continuing to dismantle armed infrastructures and eliminate militants, according to Zamir.
He referred to a previous meeting with leaders of the "Givati" Brigade and the 401st Brigade about three months ago on Israel's northern border before they moved to Gaza to continue "deepening the achievements."
Zamir credited the Southern Command and the Gaza Division for accurately thwarting threats at every opportunity and considered their "tremendous achievements" to be based on firm and uncompromising activities in the field.
He also mentioned meeting with Reserve Battalion 11, explaining that the battalion is enlisted for a 90-day rotation. He acknowledged the exceptional challenges faced by reservists and their families, reiterating the IDF's commitment to continue their efforts on their behalf.
