Mubadala of the UAE Plans to Invest $500 Million in an American Company

The UAE's sovereign wealth fund, Mubadala Investment Company, announced today, Tuesday, that it intends to invest $500 million in Brightspeed, a company specializing in high-speed internet services in the United States. Khaled Abdullah Al Qubaisi, CEO of the Real Estate and Infrastructure Investments sector at Mubadala Investment, noted that they "see a significant opportunity in supporting the growth strategy of Brightspeed and contributing to the provision of fast telecommunications and internet services through fiber optics to vast areas of the United States, enhancing digital inclusion." The statement highlighted that Mubadala will acquire a minority stake in Brightspeed, alongside stakes owned by investment funds managed by Apollo Global Management, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and its affiliated companies.
