Sudanese Army Announces Heavy Losses for "Popular Movement"

The Sudanese Armed Forces announced today, Thursday, that they thwarted a failed attack attempt by the Popular Movement forces. A statement issued by the Sudanese army indicated that the Popular Movement forces suffered significant losses, including the destruction of two tanks and several combat vehicles, as well as the seizure of two tanks. The Sudanese army also confirmed the failure of an attempt by rebel militias to infiltrate some defensive positions around the Bahri military area, noting the killing of five militants and the capture of several weapons. Additionally, it was reported that the rebel militias indiscriminately shelled the Shambat area in Khartoum, resulting in casualties among civilians.
