WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp is continuing to develop its new feature that allows users to edit sent messages. The new feature will enable users to edit messages within 15 minutes of sending them. This will be useful for correcting any mistakes in messages or adding new information before the recipient sees them.
While WhatsApp currently allows users to delete any sent message before the recipient sees it, this new feature targets users who do not want to delete messages but rather change their content before they are viewed.
This new feature will only support the latest version of the WhatsApp application and will allow editing of messages only, not multimedia explanations. The feature is still in development and now includes a new custom warning. A screenshot was shared showing that messages will be edited for everyone in the conversation, provided they are using the latest version of the app.
