The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, announced today, Tuesday, that Israeli forces are encircling the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza as the war enters a new phase following a seven-day halt to allow the return of some hostages. Halevi stated, "After sixty days since the beginning of the war, our forces are now encircling the Khan Younis area in southern Gaza." He added, "We have secured many Hamas strongholds in northern Gaza, and now we are targeting their strongholds in the south."
