The Greek Andreas Zagklis, Secretary General of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), was received during his visit to Dubai to attend the events of the Wheelchair Basketball World Cup, which took place in the United Arab Emirates in Dubai. The meeting addressed issues of mutual interest in the areas of 3x3 basketball, women's basketball, developmental programs, and the focus on youth stages. The Secretary General also mentioned the first World Championship for youth that was held in the Gulf and Middle East region in 2014 in Dubai, in addition to FIBA's choice of Dubai to host regional activities and meetings in collaboration with the UAE Federation. Furthermore, collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council was discussed regarding the final rounds of the 3x3 basketball World Championships and other activities. The programs and activities of the Arab Basketball Federation, chaired by Major General Ismail Al-Qargawi, were also presented, along with the degree of cooperation with the International Basketball Federation and its endorsement of these activities for the benefit of the sport in the region.
