Tunisia Receives Four Military Aircraft from the U.S.

The Tunisian Ministry of Defense announced today, Tuesday, that it has received four T-6C training aircraft from the United States as part of a plan to modernize its air force training fleet. U.S. Ambassador to Tunisia, Joey Hood, stated that the U.S. is committed to supporting the ministry's efforts to enhance air force capabilities in order to address security challenges and meet humanitarian needs. For his part, Tunisian Defense Minister Imed Memmich noted that these aircraft will support the air force in training and preparing fighter pilots, providing them with advanced training capabilities. Last month, four Tunisian soldiers lost their lives when a military aircraft crashed into the sea, an incident that President Kais Saied attributed to the aging military fleet.
