The Safa sports football team has introduced its new Dutch coach, Johnny Jansen, to the media during a press conference held at the "Four Points" hotel in Beirut, attended by club president Riad Attallah and first vice president Rami Beitar. Jansen expressed his happiness to be in Lebanon for the first time and to embark on a coaching experience with Safa, a club he has heard a lot about regarding its history. He stated that he will try to elevate the team’s level as much as possible and provide young players with opportunities just as he does for the team's star players, emphasizing that he does not care about age but rather about what the talented player performs on the field.
For his part, Beitar mentioned that there is a preliminary agreement between both parties (Safa and Jansen) for a duration of two years, based on which the evaluation process will take place. The coaching staff will consist of local expertise, with the possibility of adding foreign members.
Who is Johnny Jansen? Jansen was born on March 2, 1975, in the Dutch city of Heerenveen. He played in his early years for the amateur team Olivio from a young age (1979 - 1991), then defended the colors of Heerenveen (1995 - 1998), VVV-Venlo (1998 - 2000), and Meppel Sport (2000 - 2005).
