MP Sleiman Al-Sayegh questioned, "How can any Lebanese authority accept that this country remains without true national partnership?" After meeting with Maronite Patriarch Bechara Al-Rahi in Diman, Al-Sayegh stated, "This imposed reality, if it does not change, will lead us all to places no one desires." He added, "Our demands and our struggle are for the benefit of all Lebanon, even if some wish to undermine the Christian political presence by targeting the presidency." He urged the government to seek UNIFIL support to control all Lebanese land and maritime borders and points of entry and exit, especially the airport and port, as stated in Resolution 1701.
