Experts from Ohio State University have announced that smoking electronic cigarettes during pregnancy leads to children developing asthma. The American Journal of Physiology-Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology indicates that during this study, researchers exposed pregnant female rats to nicotine-containing vapors and those without. They then examined the condition of these females and their five-month-old offspring. It was found that nicotine caused impaired lung function, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in the young rats, who also showed signs of fear. Additionally, the weight of the nicotine-exposed rats increased as they aged.
