Yemeni Coast Guard forces reported today, Sunday, that a boat carrying illegal migrants from the Horn of Africa capsized off the coast of the port of al-Mokha in southwestern Yemen on the Red Sea. In a statement, they indicated that 26 migrants out of 57, including women, were rescued from the boat, while 31 are still missing. A source in the Coast Guard attributed the sinking of the boat to strong winds and the loss of control by the captain amid the rough waves, which led to all passengers falling into the sea. Search and rescue operations are still ongoing as of now.
