Al Nassr published excerpts from an interview with its new star Cristiano Ronaldo, the first since the player’s transfer to the Saudi club, announced days ago in a blockbuster deal. Ronaldo stated that he has a "great feeling" about joining Al Nassr, adding that representing the club is "an honor" for him. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner said, "I am looking forward to starting to bring happiness to people and to myself. I am very happy to be here."
Ronaldo, 37, who moved to the Saudi league after terminating his contract with Manchester United, continued: "The most important thing is the present, enjoying it, and winning for the club." The Portuguese legend considered that the Saudi league has "very high potential and world-class players. It is very strong and highly competitive, and that’s why I am here today."
It is expected that Al Nassr will register their new player in the Saudi football federation's roster so he can participate in official matches. Two club officials confirmed that Ronaldo's international transfer certificate arrived from England on Wednesday, after he signed a lucrative contract lasting two and a half years.
