Earth's Upcoming Partial Solar Eclipse Next Month

The "Planetarium" astronomical center in Moscow announced that inhabitants of Earth will witness a partial solar eclipse next October. A statement from the center's press service said, "On October 25, residents of Earth will observe a partial solar eclipse; this phenomenon will be visible to residents of many regions in Russia, most of Europe, northeastern Africa, the Middle East, parts of western Asia, and the residents of Greenland."

The statement added, "On the mentioned day, residents of Russia will be able to observe the solar eclipse between 12:00 and 16:01 Moscow time, and the eclipse will be partial. For the residents of Moscow, the moon will cover almost 63% of the sun's corona, while residents of the Russian regions overlooking the Black Sea will see this phenomenon with slightly less blockage."

According to the statement, "Residents of the Russian city of Khanty-Mansiysk will also be able to witness the solar eclipse on October 25, and the sun's disk will be obscured by the moon more than it will be in Moscow. It is expected that the eclipse will be clearly visible to them around 14:00 Moscow time."
