The "Cry of Depositors" Association in Lebanon staged a protest today, Thursday, in front of the central bank's headquarters in Beirut "against the unfair circulars affecting depositors." During the protest, banners were raised calling for the return of people's deposits that have been held in banks for nearly four years. This movement coincides with two sessions held by the Lebanese Council of Ministers today, during which it was decided to adopt the platform of the American company "Bloomberg" for trading and financial markets instead of the Sayrafa platform launched by the Central Bank of Lebanon, in addition to discussing items of the draft budget law for the year 2024. The protesters expressed their absolute rejection of the circulars issued by the Central Bank over the past four years, considering them illegal and unconstitutional, and asserted that they cannot be recognized.
