Cabinet Discusses Displaced Persons Before Noon and Budget Law Project in the Afternoon

A series of Cabinet meetings is scheduled throughout the week to continue discussing the draft law for the state budget for 2024. The meeting set for today, Monday, regarding the budget will take place at 3:30 PM and will address how to approach the issue of imposing taxes in US dollars. Before that, at 11 AM, there will be a special session for the government to discuss the file of Syrian displaced persons, with participation from Army Commander Joseph Aoun and security agency leaders. The file will be examined in detail from all aspects, and it is expected that the session will yield executive decisions. The discussion will also cover statistics which number in the thousands, and it is anticipated that the Minister of Social Affairs, who has been boycotting meetings, will participate since the topic is believed to fall under his responsibility.
