The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced today, Tuesday, the recording of an earthquake with a magnitude of four in Basra Province. It stated in a statement that "the seismic observatories in the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismology recorded an earthquake occurrence in Basra Province." The ministry clarified that "the earthquake was recorded at exactly 12:22:36 AM local time today, with a magnitude of (4) and is located (22) kilometers northeast of Al-Hartha in the province." It added, "It was felt by the citizens, and no significant damages were reported."
